Pollinator Week and Pollinator Partnership

June 22, 2021
Here at Ivory Ella, we see key issues in this world that need humanitarian attention and care. Once we find a cause that needs more love, we become hooked and are not satisfied until we have done our part to help. This was the exact case when we began searching for an organization that helps Save the Bees. We found our perfect partner in the Pollinator Partnership foundation.

Pollinator Partnership is a non-profit organization with a mission to help promote pollinator health through conservation, education, and research. One of their main sources of motivation is the fact that pollinators are critical to our ecosystems and provide a huge portion of the food we consume. While the main locations of their projects are within the United States, Canada, and Mexico, their work extends across the globe.

You may be thinking, “why do pollinators matter so much?” Well, when you begin to research the importance of pollinators, it becomes overwhelmingly evident just how much they do for us. One of our favorite facts to share with our audience is that pollinators, including bees, butterflies, bats, and beetles (among many other small mammals), are responsible for bringing humans one out of every three bites of food. They sustain our ecosystem by providing 75%-95% of flowering plants the nutrients required to reproduce. Pollinators bring 180,000 plant species essential elements to their growth. Without pollination, we would be lacking countless fruits, vegetables, oils, and raw materials. We would face low carbon sequestration and severe soil erosion. Pollinator Partnership educates the public on devastating possibilities like these, and does their part to combat them from becoming a reality.

The action that Pollinator Partnership takes regularly to help restore our planet makes a huge difference in the well-being of pollinators. Pollinator Partnership works with the government to research, expand public outreach, and establish key initiatives involving pollinator health. They implement education programs in urban and agricultural settings across the globe to support pollinator habitats and increase community knowledge. You can enhance the actions of this organization by participating in smaller tasks right from home!

A step you can take to help save pollinators, is to start planting. Any positive gesture, no matter the size, is a step in the right direction - from planting window boxes to acres of farmland. Pollinator Partnership recommends planting in clusters to make it an easier target for pollinators to find. You can also help by reducing the impact of pesticides and registering your home as a bee-friendly space. Above all, make sure that you are staying informed on the health of pollinators and educating those around you. In order to save our ecosystem, we need to stay inspired.

Finding causes close to our hearts and acting to improve circumstances is what Ivory Ella thrives doing. For this incredible cause, we need your help.
